Birthday Party!
We had Alistair's birthday party this past weekend. We decided to just have a "small" gathering of family and a few close friends at our house. It ended up being about 30 people, but I have a lot of family that lives close, so it was easy for people to come! We figure we would wait one more year for the kiddie party! We had a great time and our new kitchen accomodated the party preparations quite well! Alistair had a great day. We did the party after nap time so he would be in top form. He was all over the place, interacting with lots of people and playing with some of the kids. I don't think I ever saw or heard him cry and he was still going at 8:45 that night! Once he went to bed though, he crashed hard! (: Alistair got lots of sports equipment and some cool new trucks as well as a few new sets of clothes to wear (not as exciting to him, but we like them!).
Nana and Papa bought him this trike. He can't reach the pedals well enough to make the trike go on his own, but there is a walking height handle bar to push him on it and the handle also helps steer the trike. I let him do the steering, but when he starts not paying attention to the fact that we are about to go off the curb, I will take over!
He didn't get any cake after he blew out the candles. By the time we did cake, it was getting close to bed time for him and a bunch of sugar wasn't what he needed! So after breakfast the next morning we let him have his cake. He seemed to enjoy it just fine!
Batter up! Not only did Alistair get the t-ball set, he also got lacrosse sticks and a golf club! We have a regular sporting goods store in the backyard now! Welcome to Alistair's wide world of sports!
