Long Weekend at Lake Osoyoose

Over the long weekend for the 4th, we headed northeast for Lake Osoyoose in Oroville, WA to spend it with Aunt Donna and Uncle Dan. We were joined by my parents, Auntie Ann and Uncle Bob and Graham, Dana, Carrie and Luke. Also in attendance were the three resident dogs: Ypsee, Lola and Sherman. We had a great time and lots of fun in the water! The weather was gorgeous and hot - probably 100 on Saturday. Their lake house is right by the community park where the local fireworks show is shot off. We had front row seats to watch the show and a fancy red, white and blue dessert to enjoy while we watched. As is usual for a Martinson gathering, we had lots of good food and drink!
Alistair and Carrie were inseparable almost all weekend. The first thing Alistair would talk about in the morning was where was Carrie. They had a great time playing together and wearing each other out!
They are trying out the boat in the driveway the night before we launched it.
We brought over my kayak and there were 3 other kayaks to use. Alistair finally decided this trip that he wanted to ride in the boat. The last time we tried, I got 10 feet from shore and he was done. This time he really enjoyed it and by the third trip out, he brought a drink with him to put in his cup holder!
Alistair also had his first ride in a ski boat or the "big, white, fast boat" as he called it. He really liked that and the second ride out got to drive it!
Uncle Dan made a new little buddy on Sunday after Carrie left. Alistair took a liking to hanging out with Uncle Dan and wouldn't let him out of his sights! They are sitting down on the grass with their drinks watching the lake traffic.Gillian had a fun weekend too, we think! She had lots of people to hold her and she got to wear most of her super cute summer outfits!
Gillian hung out with us in her Bumbo while we ate lunch. She seemed content!

She also got to dip her feet in the lake. It was very hot on Saturday and she was pretty warm. She didn't hate it, but wasn't completely enamored with it. It did cool her down though!

3 months went by so fast!

Gillian turned 3 months on Wednesday! It is hard to believe it has been 3 months already! During his first year, we would celebrate Alistair's monthly "birthdays" with cupcakes - most months anyway. Seth has decided to continue this tradition and brought home cupcakes from Trophy Cupcakes on Wednesday. They were DELICIOUS!
If only I had teeth!
At her 2 month appointment, which was more like 2 1/2 month appointment, she was 10lbs and 10oz and 22 1/8 inches long. I would say she is about 11lbs now. She is a really good baby. She has a great appetite and sleeps fairly well - although we have yet to get her to sleep through the night, or even a 6 hour stretch! She is very strong and holds her head up well. She is already sitting in the Bumbo, which makes it easy to get through dinner as she can sit at our level and feel satisfied that she hasn't been abandoned while we eat! She also likes to stand, wherever she can. Alistair seemed to enjoy holding Gillian up to pose for this photo. I think he thought that was pretty neat!
She is a very smiley baby and loves watching mobiles. She is happy as a clam laying on her changing table and watching the mobile that hangs overhead. Alistair is still being a good big brother. He helps me take care of her and will get things for me when I need them.

The outfit above was made for "the baby" when Judy was pregnant with Seth. Her friend was convinced she was having a girl. No such luck for Judy. She wrapped it up and gave it to me at my wedding shower - I told her I thought she was being a bit premature on that gift! (: Of course our first didn't wear this outfit either. But finally a girl was born and the outfit fits her. I don't know how much use she will get out of it since it is summer! But it is cute nonetheless and finally has been worn!
