Too Cute Not to Share

My mom just sent me a bunch of photos they took from camping this weekend and one of them is a photo of Alistair flying "his" kite. It is a little turtle kite I gave one of my parents in their Christmas stockings one year - an armchair kite. Anyway, good size for Alistair to fly. He thought that was pretty cool. The only issue was that he would get tired of doing it and just let go; sometimes when nobody was looking! We managed to get it back and tied it to the truck when he wasn't flying. It flew the entire time we were on the beach - much better than the larger kite we couldn't get to stay in the sky! (:

Coming Up for Air

Another long time period between posts and so much going on!! As you can see from the above photo, Alistair has developed a taste for popsicles. He asks for them often by stick his tongue in and out of his mouth, like he was licking one! (: We have had jam-packed weekends since the last post with never a dull minute!
Where's Alistair? We went to the Greenwood Car Show the weekend after his birthday party. He wanted to go see the firetruck and we got him to pose in front of it. I think he thought that was pretty neat!
After wandering around in the hot sun for an hour or so we decided to seek out some food. Instead of getting street vendor over-priced food, we elected to dine at Gorditos. Alistair had some rice and beans, but mostly chips and salsa!
Over 4th of July we headed east to Pearrygin Lake State Park near Winthrop. The weather was gorgeous, not too hot, and we had all kinds of fun things to keep us entertained! The above photo is the aftermath of Alistair playing with the dog's water dish - including dumping it on his head! He is like a magnet to that thing. You can also see his first tattoos on his forearms! He thought that was pretty cool!
Judy taught my mom to play cribbage and then cribbage games were played throughout the remainder of the weekend. Alistair is helping Grandma with her hand, using his best poker face!
Alistair would also go find himself a camp chair and read a book. We went into Twisp 2 of the days and the local seniors center was a having a sale. Grandma picked up a new book for him and he was really into reading it the rest of the time - and still is!
The following weekend was full of birthday parties and a baby shower. Judy and I as well as Jen's mom, Jean, threw a baby shower for Jen. She is due at the end of August. It was a fun time and Jen got a lot of nice things! We did a tea with lots of little sandwiches, a salad and various cookies and chocolate-dipped strawberries. We also had lots of different yummy teas and lemonades.
Here is Jen posing with her new child backpack. The carnage of the day - lots of nice presents to find a place for at home!

This past weekend we headed to Grayland Beach State Park out by Westport. We had a great time, but the weather was COLD! I pretty much was in my jeans and fleece jacket all weekend. It finally got warm enough on Sunday afternoon to pack up the truck and drive out to the beach to hangout in the warm sun for a few hours. We played ball, flew kites, threw the balls for the dogs and just relaxed. It was a fun day!

Alistair and Zak relaxing after a long day of playing!
